    On June 11th, the NCUA, along with several other federal financial institution regulators , issued a final rule establishing data standards for the submission of information to regulators. Designed to promote the interoperability of data across the federal regulatory landscape, the final rule requires certain data points to meet ISO standards.

    On June 12, 2026, FinCEN issued guidance to clarify how financial institutions CAN share information about suspected fraud under section 314(b) of the USA PATRIOT Act. 
     
  • Immigration Enforcement Turns to Financial Services Industry  (6/10/2026)
    President Trump has issued an executive order that seeks to protect America’s financial system from illicit cross-border financial activity. In response to the order, the CFPB has issued a statement reminding creditors of their obligation to consider immigration and permanent residency status as part of their ability to repay analysis. In addition, FinCEN has issued an advisory identifying red flags associated with non-work authorized populations and tax evasion.
     
  • FFIEC Proposes Changes to CAMELS Rating System: Part Two  (6/3/2026)
    On May 19th, the FFIEC issued a proposed rule that would make several updates to the CAMELS Rating System. In that article, we provided a brief overview of CAMELS and introduced the proposed changes to the Capital Adequacy and Management components. This week we’ll cover the Earnings, Liquidity, and Sensitivity to Market Risk components as well as the overall composite rating.
